Reiki for Animals
Reiki may help your animal by providing soothing comfort and deep relaxation, improving problem behaviors and anxieties, and alleviating physical and emotional stress. I have experience working with both small and large animals—horses, dogs, cats, birds, and fish to name a few.
I work with animals on any or all of the following issues:
General Well Being
The stress of daily life, causing minor physical or emotional problems, can be soothed quite effectively through a Reiki session. I've worked with animals on such issues as general nervousness and anxiety, joint stiffness, constipation, ear infections, mild chronic conditions, etc.
Physical Injuries or Traumas
Giving Reiki energy to an animal after an acute injury can be quite helpful in enhancing the healing process. When an animal has been injured, he is often sensitive to touch in the area of pain. Most often, animals with injuries welcome my light touch and will sit or lie patiently as I give them soothing energy.
Emotional & Behavioral Challenges
I believe that animals have very active emotional lives and may adapt certain behaviors because of emotional trauma or because they are anxious or confused about an issue. Often times Reiki sessions reveal the animal's emotional-behavioral logic and many problems may be resolved.
Illness and End-of-Life
Reiki can be quite soothing and comforting for animals with chronic illnesses and during their end-of-life stage. I have witnessed many older animals who have responded so well to gentle touch and warm, healing energy. Reiki energy can improve illness symptoms and it can also prepare an animal for a peaceful death.
Reiki can also be quite helpful for people after the death of their companion animal. While giving soothing Reiki energy, I hold a healing space for people to express their grief as well as their intentions for healing.
